Geological engineering survey

Geological engineering surveys are required in construction to ensure accurate and correct location of buildings and structures. These surveys are performed without regard to the type and dimensions of the facility under construction. Geological engineering surveys identify engineering-geological and hydrogeological conditions of the expected construction area, soil characteristics hazardous geological processes and other possible complications in the process of construction and operation of structures. Survey is performed by studying physical-geologic conditions, geologic structure, hydrogeological conditions, main physical-mechanic soil features, electrical survey, chemical composition of underground waters and corrosive soil activity.

  • Based on the results of engineering-geologic survey a technical report is issued containing data of physical-geographic conditions of the surveyed area, geologic-lithologic soil description, hydrologic conditions, physical-geologic processes, physical-mechanic soil features, aggressive and corrosive water and soil features, forecasts, conclusions, recommendations.
